About the project

About the project

Aim

To measure a person’s height using an ultrasonic sensor and display the result on an OLED screen.

Components Required

  • Arduino UNO
  • HC-SR04 Ultrasonic Sensor
  • OLED Display (128×64 I2C)
  • Jumper Wires
  • USB Cable

Working Principle

The ultrasonic sensor is placed at a fixed height above the ground. It sends ultrasonic waves and measures the distance to the person’s head. The Arduino calculates the person’s height using:

Height = Total Height of Sensor from Floor − Measured Distance

The calculated height is then displayed on the OLED screen.

Applications

  • Height measurement systems
  • Smart health monitoring devices
  • Contactless measuring systems
  • Science and engineering projects
