Puzzle – 5

Quick, easy way to see it:

  • Look at each column of the five shown tickets. Columns 1,3,5 currently contain only the odd digits {1,3,5} — so the missing ticket must have an even digit in columns 1,3,5 (one of {2,4,6}).

  • Columns 2,4,6 contain only the even digits {2,4,6} — so the missing ticket must have an odd digit in columns 2,4,6 (one of {1,3,5}).

  • The missing ticket must use each digit 1–6 exactly once, and fit the even/odd pattern even–odd–even–odd–even–odd.

The number that satisfies all that is 6 1 2 3 4 5 → 612345.

The missing 6-digit ticket is 612345.

Puzzle – 6

Let total games = GG.
Susan won 3 games, so Lisa won G3G – 3 games.

Each game the winner gets $1, so Lisa’s net winnings = (Lisa’s wins) − (Susan’s wins) = (G3)3=G6(G – 3) – 3 = G – 6.

We’re told Lisa won $5, so:

G6=5G – 6 = 5 G=11G = 11

They played 11 games

Puzzle – 1 Find The Code

The code is 042.

Quick check (matching each hint):

  • 682 → 2 is correct and well placed (pos.3).

  • 614 → 4 is correct but wrongly placed (so it must be pos.2).

  • 206 → 2 and 0 are correct but both wrongly placed there (so 0 is pos.1, 2 is pos.3).

  • 738 → none of 7,3,8 appear.

  • 780 → only 0 is correct and it’s wrongly placed in that clue.

So the 3-digit key is 0 4 2.
